The season has now officially started! I played my first tournament this past Monday, and even if it was a really small event, I'm glad to have played a tournament already. My irons from Taylor Made was delayed two weeks, so I had only been able to practice for about 5 days before the event, and only about 30 minutes with my wedges! (I sent my old irons and wedges back to Taylor Made before I left for Sweden so that they could check everything and get me the same clubs but with the conforming grooves...this is why I really didn't have ANY clubs for 2 weeks.) Despite this, I am really happy with the way I hit the ball during the tournament! I started with birdie-birdie-par-birdie and at that point I had no idea what was going on, haha! I came in with a 75 and the only reason I wasn't under par was because my short game was rusty (to say the least!!!) I've been working a lot on my short game this past week, now when I have some wedges to practice with, and it's finally getting back to where I want it. My short game is usually one of the strongest parts of my game, so I was actually not worried when it was in bad shape during the tournament. After all, 30 minutes after a one month break isn't quite enough... ;) My confidence is back on track with the wedges and the putter is still my favorite club in my bag! Since I took that long of a break, I don't think I've ever been so excited to go to the golf course! When thinking about it, I don't think I have taken a month off in the part ten years!!! Because of this, I now almost have to force myself to leave the golf course at some point so that I don't get worn out...and that's a good problem to have! :)
